The tools
TextStats provides free, browser-based utilities: counts, reading and speaking time, Flesch readability, text cleaners, and case conversion. They run on static pages. You keep whatever rights you already have in the text you paste. The site does not take a license to store or publish that text, because the tools do not receive it. See the privacy policy for the difference between local processing and the request that loads the page.
Outputs are mechanical. A word count follows the rule on that page. A grade level follows the published formula and an estimated syllable count. A speaking time follows the pace you set. None of these is legal, medical, educational, or professional advice, and none is a promise that a publisher, a school, or a platform will accept the number. You are responsible for checking a result before you rely on it.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the host. Do not attempt to break the pages, probe them for data they do not hold, or use them to distribute malware. Do not paste material you are not allowed to process. The tools are not a file host. There is nothing to upload.
The site’s own pages
The site’s text and design remain its own. You may quote a short passage with a link. You may not copy the site and present it as your own product.
Ads
This version shows no third-party ads. If that changes, the privacy policy will be updated first, and ads will not be disguised as download buttons or tool controls.
No warranty
The site is provided as is. Counts and transforms can be wrong for a text that falls outside the limitations written on the page. Pages can be unavailable when the host is unavailable. To the extent the law allows, TextStats is not liable for decisions you make from a score, a time, or a cleaned string, or for loss of a draft you did not copy out of the browser. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations. In those places, the limitation applies as far as it is allowed to apply.
